These are some ideas for learning at home today. Parents please remember that there is no expectation to complete all of these! Keeping a routine for your child and maintaining contact with school are the most important thing.
Wake Up Song!
Let’s Play a Rhythm Game!
Tap it out - Use shakers, drums (pots and pans and wooden spoons are perfect) to play along with songs and rhymes. Try making the loudest sounds that you can then the quietest sounds that you can. Tap out simple rhythms. Can your child repeat the rhythm back to you? Below are some simple nursery rhymes that your child can tap along to. Try to keep the beat to the music. Start simple and maybe tap out 3-5 slow beats. Can your child listen carefully and tap the beats back? This activity is great for developing listening skills and develops turn taking.
Repeat the activity several times with different numbers of beats, then introduce rhythms involving beats and pauses, quicker and slower beats, louder and softer beats. Once your child becomes familiar and confident you can introduce more beats, pauses and experiment with making loud, quiet, quick and slow beats.
- Can you play a fast rhythm?
- Can you play a slow rhythm?
- Can you tap quietly?
- Can you make a loud sound?
- Try the game using other parts of the body or percussion instruments.
Thai Translation:
Collect your instruments from yesterday. Take some time to explore their sounds again.
Now sit across from your family. Try to copy each other making loud sounds and quiet sounds. It might be helpful for the grown up to start, this will be a good cue for your child to copy the sounds.
Songs that you can tap/ shake along to:
Thai Translation:
We are looking for children to tap out a simple repeated rhythm. We would love it if you could upload a video of your child repeating a rhythm.
Snack Time
Can you wash and clean your own bowl/ cup after your snack?
เวลาอาหารว่างและอาหารกลางวัน

Lunchtime!
Lunchtime is a great opportunity for your child to sit down on their own chair. Look at our wonderful FSN children sitting down and independently serving and feeding themselves.
Relaxing Music for Children...
Or these amazing piano skills with a more modern style of ‘classical’ music from the Penguin Cafe orchestra.

Using ILD
ILD is the platform Foundation Stage use for sharing learning. Sending pictures and videos here allows teachers to give personalised feedback on children's learning. A gentle reminder that teachers are unable to provide feedback via email or Teams chat. A parent guide of how to use this platform is in the document below.
We would love you to upload an ILD observation of your child learning today.
Have a wonderful day of learning at home today!
