Wake Up Song!
Obstacle Course Time!
Today we are going to build an obstacle course, this will help us to learn positional language.
Watch this video to practice prepositional words
Can you remember the signs?
Have a try with your family!
Now for your obstacle course challenge!
Watch this short video about ideas for making an obstacle course.
Outdoors:
Indoors:
First you can plan your course – What things do you have around your house that you could use? What is the first activity?
Check with your parents that everything is safe.
Reflect: what’s working well and what would you like to improve?
Include use of time: can you use a timer to measure how long it takes you and your family to complete the obstacle course? Who was the quickest? How can you be quicker?
With this activity we are encouraging the children to;
- Understand and use positional language- over/under, on/in, through, on top, next to, behind, inside/outside.
- Have their own ideas, plan and modify them
- Observe the effect activity has on their bodies

Physical Development
Scarf DancingLets get dancing today using a scarf. Dancing is great for children to develop their physical fitness. Scarf dancing in particular, helps children to develop stronger muscles in their shoulders and arms. Watch the video and follow along with Ms Gemma. Remember, if you don’t have a scarf you can always use a towel, pillow case or ribbon!

Snack Time
Can you help to make your snack?
Independence is so important in normal everyday routines. Chopping and peeling not only helps to develop fine motor but the children always surprise us with different ways of thinking when deciding how to do things for themselves.

Lunchtime!
Lunchtime is a great opportunity for your child to use positional words. “My rice is under the vegetables. My cucumber is next to the corn. My sauce is on top of the pasta’”
Enjoy your lunch FSN don’t forget to tidy up afterwards too.

Keeping Children Safe Online...
Please support your children's online safety by sharing our continued learning code of conduct here:
Using ILD
ILD is the platform Foundation Stage use for sharing learning. Sending pictures and videos here allows teachers to give personalised feedback on children's learning. A gentle reminder that teachers are unable to provide feedback via email or Teams chat. A parent guide of how to use this platform is in the document below.
We would love you to upload an ILD observation of your child learning today.
Have a wonderful day of learning at home today!
