Nursery Continuing Student Learning Friday 19th June

Welcome to the Nursery learning page. Don't forget to register each morning on the opening page.

Good Morning Nursery!

If you are learning from home today, we hope you enjoy the learning below!

Thank you for sharing your special moments at home.

You can find pictures of you and your friends learning from home on the main Nursery page -  here

These are some ideas for learning at home today. Parents please remember that there is no expectation to complete all of these! Keeping a routine for your child and maintaining contact with school are the most important thing.

Wake Up Song!

Choose another wake up song from our collection by clicking on this link - Nursery Song Collection

Soon, it will be time to move up to FS1. We have found some of our favourite photographs that you can share with your grown ups. We would love it if you could watch the FSN video with your family and talk about your memories from Nursery. We have added lots of photographs to prompt your discussions at home. You can talk about past events and use the photographs to talk about what your child likes to do at Nursery.

Your child might use the past tense to talk about something they have already done. For example, “I played with … in the water” or “I played in the sand.”

They might want to share with you what they like to do at Nursery, “I like to splash in the water.” “I like to play with playdough.” “I like playing with my friends.”

Can you spot your friends in the photographs?

What are your favourite things to do at Nursery?

Take a look at some of our gorgeous FSN photos from 2019/2020. You can look back on all of the wonderful independent learning that has happened this academic year.

Here are some of the things we are looking for:

  • Uses talk to connect ideas, explain what is happening and anticipate what might happen next, recall and relive past experiences.
  • Uses a range of tenses (e.g. play, playing, will play, played).
  • Remembers and talks about significant events in their own experience - remembering special events in Nursery.

Exploring Texture...

Texture is all around us – and using the tactile sense is an important part of the child’s sensory play and observation. Encourage your child to use their fingers, hands and other body parts to find out how different textures feel. You could also use academic language (in your home language) to describe them.

You can create different textures by adding foods such as salt, flour, oats, cereals, soil, leaves or breadcrumbs) to your favourite colour of paint.

If you don’t have paint at home try exploring texture with pencil or crayon rubbings like this… You can try rubbings of leaves, zippers, lego….anything really! See how many different textures you can find.

ILD prompt: We would love to hear your child talking about Nursery, what they enjoy doing and their memories.

Transition to Foundation Stage One!

Soon it will be time for Nursery children to move into FS1. Each day we will share video's of FS1, the routines and new safety measures in place to help you to prepare your children for these changes.

Snack Time

Remember to wash your hands as often as you can and especially before eating or drinking. I wonder if you can count to 20, while you do it!

Snack/lunch: is a great opportunity for your child to understand how unique they are. We do not all like the same foods and drinks. Do you like spicy or mild flavours? Do you like sweet or sour flavours?

Keeping Children Safe Online...

Please support your children's online safety by sharing our continued learning code of conduct here:

Using ILD

ILD is the platform Foundation Stage use for sharing learning. Sending pictures and videos here allows teachers to give personalised feedback on children's learning. A gentle reminder that teachers are unable to provide feedback via email or Teams chat. A parent guide of how to use this platform is in the document below.

We would love you to upload an ILD observation of your child learning today.

Have a wonderful day of learning at home today!
