Don't forget, that during our wellbeing calls:
- we make sure a grown up is always nearby
- we are fully dressed
- we don't eat whilst on a call
- we wait for our class teacher to start the call

What makes your heart happy?
- Think of and talk about the things that make you happy.
- Draw and cut out a heart shaped piece of paper.
- Draw the things that make you happy.
This is an effective technique that you can encourage your child to use when they are feeling sad, upset or overwhelmed to help them to calm down.
Asking your child questions about the things that make them happy and engaging them in a conversation, encourages them to think and talk about the things they like and enjoy which can help them to redirect their overwhelming emotions and to calm down.
The pictures of the things that make them happy can be displayed in a prominent place (e.g. fridge, bedroom wall, bedroom window) for your child to look at and to remind themselves of the things that help them to feel happy.
