Phase Five - Review and Improve
Miss Elizabeth shares how she get's feedback and reviews her artwork!
Perseverance and a ‘can do’ attitude are key here. Family and friends can provide gentle feedback on the draft creations by identifying two things they really like and one thing that could be improved upon. Children need to be resilient enough to take constructive feedback positively and use it to improve.

Phase Six - Sharing my Learning!
This is the ‘celebration’ phase! We want children to feel super proud of what they have achieved and even more importantly ‘HOW’ they achieved it. Reflection is one of the most important skills and characteristics in being an effective learner.
Children Can...
Make a video explaining their art work: Why they chose to do it this way -What they materials they used - What techniques they tried - What problems did they have to overcome - How they made improvements to their learning.
Just like this one from last week's learning!
Children could also accompany their final piece with a letter or card to the person or to explain the purpose of their art (a good writing opportunity for FS2)

We would also love you to share with us the ‘purpose’ that you chose for your creations. It’s very good for children’s well-being to feel that the effort and time they spend on a project is worth it!

Parents remember to praise the ‘process’ as well as the outcome today. We can’t wait to see your amazing art!

We invite you to upload a short video of your child singing Every Little Cell’ to ILD. It can be the whole song or part of it, with an instrument (like a salt shaker or cornflakes) or without! We will take the videos and make a compilation to share with our community. If you do not wish to take part in that, there is no need to upload a video.

These are some ideas for learning at home today. A reminder that you don't have to do all (or any) of these today. Maintaining a routine and a connection with school are the most important things!
Mindfulness with Ms Chree!
This game encourages children to feel a sense of calmness, to be aware of their surroundings and to develop focus. It is like I spy only using colours. One person names a specific colour and the other player looks for it. This is what you can say:
“Try to find a red thing in this room…” or “Find something blue in this room…” or “What are all the yellow things that you can see from where you are sitting?” or “Can you find something green in this room?”
You can play this game anywhere to focus your child’s attention or to help them to calm down when they are becoming over excited.

Phonics Time!
FS1: Rhyme Challenge with Ms Elizabeth
Challenge your child to think of as many rhymes as you can for "cat" (or any word). He/She says as many words as he can that rhyme with that word. Play with another family member and have both players keep count. You may want to model saying the given word with the rhyming word so you stay on track with rhymes (Cat, bat. Cat, hat. Cat, mat. . . ). Also try speed rounds - yell out rhyming words as fast as you can!
