Foundation Stage Continued Learning Friday 24th April

Wakey-wakey Ms Samira!

We hope that you enjoyed our trial 'good morning' videos from class teachers yesterday. From Monday, we will be posting these every weekday, excluding public holidays. We plan to upload them to class channels and also link them through this blog!

Sharing the learning!

Look at what your friends have been learning this week:

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing all of your amazing learning this week! We are so proud of everyone!

Sharing the learning this term - parental permission required

Please let your child's class teacher know if you are happy for some of your child’s ILD observations to occasionally appear on our FS CSL blog. We will not share ILD observations on here without your permission.

Wake up and shake up with Ms Rachel + special guest!

Singing nursery rhymes and songs to children can help develop their language and communication skills from an early age.

How will Ms Rachel play along to 'Every Little Cell' today?

Don't forget to upload your versions to ILD! Miss Rachel wants to make a video of everyone in FS singing the song!

Ms Rachel and a someone in a very silly hat sing a song about a spider for us!

Birthday corner!

Happy Birthday to Liya (FSJ) and Araya (FSD) who celebrate their birthdays over the weekend - we hope that you have a wonderful day, from all your friends in the Foundation Stage!

These are some ideas for learning at home today. A reminder that you don't have to do all (or any) of these today. Maintaining a routine and a connection with school are the most important things!

This Foundation Stage project is a great challenge that can be stretched out over the whole week. It is broken down into different phases, each one focusing on a different aspect of the design process.

We challenge you to become a…

Today is the day to finish your Little Engineers Learning

Watch this great example to inspire you!

And so many more!

So you have done your planning... Next we get to...

Phase 5 - Review, Problem Solve and Improve

Early Years Developmental Indicators:

•Selects appropriate resources and adapts work where necessary.

•Uses simple tools to effect changes to materials.

Children  make observations and explain why some things occur (forces and motion)

A new project will be here next week- well done Little Engineers!

Snack time - keep washing those hands!

Outdoor play - nature hunt!

Nature hunts are a fun way for children to focus in on using their eyes and bring awareness to their surroundings. They encourage them to notice the things around them.

Ms Chree sets us a challenge to do outside - don't forget to wear a hat and sun cream!

Lunch time - what proteins are you eating today?

Physical Development - recycled bowling!

Bowling is a great game to enable our children to develop increasing control when rolling the ball, accuracy when hitting a target, and,of course, using Math skills to count their totals.

Create your own bowling game using recycled water bottles!

Don’t forget to follow Mr Tristan’s bowling technique- Step forward with one leg, point to the bottles and roll the ball to hit the pins!

Phonics Time!

FS1 - Echo Sounds

Tuning accurately into vocal sounds prepares children to orally blend and segment, a necessary step on their journey to reading and writing.

Head to an echo-y room, like your bathroom and look in the mirror. Your parent will have a go making a long sound with a changing pitch (eeeeeeeeeee)? Can you repeat it? Have another go with another long sound (oooooooo). Can you make the sound just like your parent?
