Angela Royle Fun Run 2022

This year the run is named for a much loved Bangkok Patana teacher. Angela Royle taught at Bangkok Patana School from 2007 until 2021 when she retired to Phuket. Besides her warm nature, Angela was well known for encouraging everyone around her to get active. She designed training plans, coached and did all she could to get those around her to get physical. Her fellow competitors remember her for almost always making onto the podium with her bright smile in the events that she entered. Angela succumbed to cancer earlier this year, and until the very end she was planning her next physical activity.

In the spirit of Angela, we would like you to do more than enter the run. Bring along a friend, relative or colleague who has never entered an event before.

As we have done in the past, this year once again we will do all we can to reduce our environmental footprint.

We will have free water refill stations at the Start/Finish area
We will have a water bottle check in, so that you can leave your bottle while on the course and pick it up after

Charity Fun Run

Our primary goal with the Fun Run is to bring our Bangkok Patana community together in a relaxed outdoor setting. As a secondary goal, we raise funds for charities supported by our school community clubs. This year proceeds from the Fun Run will go to Smile Club, Cancure and Habitat for Humanity.

This year, we would additionally like to support the installment of playground or outdoor activity equipment for a rural thai school. The school is in a remote Lisu village called Pang Wua in Wiang Haeng District, Chiang Mai.

Our Student Environmental Committee (SEC) has been supporting this village by buying and installing solar panels, as the village has no other access to electricity.

Participation Details

Registration opens at 9.00am on 5th September 2022. The link is posted below.
1,100 spots will be allocated on a first come basis.
Cost: THB 500, includes event T-shirt, after-run snack.

The Online Registration is now closed. Onsite Registration will be available from 5.00am at Rama 9 Park (Marigold Gate), on a first come basis, until 6.00am or until the spaces are filled.

Your running kit (T-shirt and bib) has been mailed to the address you provided in the registration form. If you do not receive it by Saturday, please go to the Registration/Information desk on the day of the Fun Run.

5.30 am - Booths open - please visit our sponsors. Community club Pataroma will be selling Fair Trade Coffee packets and freshly brewed coffee, our Thai parents group have a welcome surprise for you and the PTG will be selling water bottles and other items.

5.45 am - Welcome and warmup led by the Friends of Angela

6.00 am - 5K start

6.15 am - 3K start

6.35 am - 1.5K start
